That's the one we have at home.

A quick note on how this list was made. We have used the Philips NA231 at home for two years. I haven't used the others myself. I picked them from live Amazon.in listings by capacity, wattage, service network in India and price, and I checked every listing on 12 October 2026.

What Changed Since The June Version?

In June I put the Philips HD9252 on top. Since then the newer Philips NA120/00 has become the cheaper Philips to buy, and the gap is big (₹4,459 against ₹6,799 today). So the NA120 is now the first pick and the HD9252 moves down.

I have also added the Philips NA231 6.2L, the air fryer we have used at home since October 2024. It is now the family pick, ahead of the Instant.

I also dropped the AGARO Imperial dual basket. It was out of stock when I checked, and I don't want to send you to a page you can't buy from.

Buy it if you are 1 to 3 people and want a known brand that won't take over the counter.

Skip it if you fry snacks for 5 people every evening. You will end up cooking in two batches. Go for the Philips NA231 6.2L below.

Don't mix it up with the HD9252. Different model, different ASIN, different price.

We bought this one in October 2024. My sister uses it about once a week, mostly for macaroni and butter pasta, and she lines the basket with butter paper.

What I like is the size. It's big. One basket easily makes a snack for 4 people (I am a heavy eater, so for us it's more like 2). The window is the other thing. You can see if the food is ready without pulling the basket out.

What annoys me? The basket gets really hot after cooking. I have to keep it aside and let it cool before I can clean it. So plan a few minutes for that.

In two years it hasn't given any problem and we have never needed a service. Would I buy it again? Yes. Philips does its homework before launching a product and keeps updating the range, and that shows.

Buy it if you are a family of 4 or more, or if you are heavy eaters like me.

Skip it if your counter is small. It is a big machine.

4.1 litres, Rapid Air, touch panel and 7 preset menus. It is still a solid Philips. The problem is the price. Today it costs ₹2,340 more than the NA120 for almost the same basket.

So, buy this one only if you specifically want the touch panel or the NA120 is out of stock.

4. Instant Vortex Plus 6L: Another Family Option

Best for: families of 4 to 5

Size: 6L, 6-in-1

6 litres and 6 functions (air fry, roast, grill, bake, reheat and dehydrate). Same size class as the Philips NA231, but ₹1,000 more as of today. Pick it if you like the Instant brand or the Philips is out of stock. It suits a family of 4 to 5 who make big batches of tikki, fries or reheated rotis.

It is bulky though. Measure your counter before you order. And check that there is an Instant service centre in your city before you buy.

The Inalsa is 3.5 litres and 1400W. The Pigeon is 4.2 litres and 1200W. Both are fine as a first air fryer for one or two people.
